Privacy Policy

The short version: CoParnt stores only what's needed to make the app work. Your family's information — schedules, children's details, handover notes — is private by design. We do not sell your data, and we never will.

01 — Introduction

Who we are

CoParnt ("we", "us", or "our") is a co-parenting coordination app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the CoParnt iOS application and the website at www.coparnt.app (together, the "Service").

By using CoParnt you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

02 — Data we collect

What information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service. Here's a plain-English breakdown:

03 — How we use it

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and maintain your account
Sync schedules and handover records between co-parents
Send push notifications you have opted into
Respond to support requests
Identify and fix bugs and crashes
Improve the app based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns

We do not use your data to train AI models, serve targeted advertising, or build profiles for third parties.

04 — Sharing

Who we share your data with

We share your information with as few parties as possible:

Your co-parent. Schedules, events, and handover records are visible to the other linked account — that's the whole point. You control what you enter.
Cloud infrastructure. We host the backend on Railway. Your data is stored on servers in the EU/US. Railway processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
Crash analytics. We use crash-reporting tools to diagnose technical issues. These receive anonymised device and error information only — never schedule content or personal details.
Apple. Push notifications are routed through Apple's Push Notification Service (APNs). Apple does not receive your notification content.

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own commercial purposes.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with legal process or protect the rights and safety of CoParnt or others.

05 — Children's data

Information about children

CoParnt stores names and dates of birth for the children whose custody arrangements you manage. This information is entered by you (the adult user) and is used solely to populate your schedules within the app. We treat this data with particular care:

Children's data is accessible only to the two linked co-parent accounts.
We do not share children's data with any third party beyond the infrastructure needed to operate the app.
CoParnt is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for children.

06 — Retention

How long we keep your data

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion:

Your personal data (name, email, children's details) is deleted within 30 days.
Shared schedule and handover data is deleted within 30 days, subject to any data your co-parent has independently created.
Anonymised, aggregate usage statistics may be retained indefinitely as they cannot be linked back to you.

We may retain certain information for longer if required by law or to resolve disputes.

07 — Security

How we protect your data

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information:

All data is transmitted over HTTPS / TLS.
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel only.
We review security practices regularly.

No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@coparnt.app.

08 — Your rights

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data — most of this can be done directly in the app.
Delete your account and associated data — contact us to request this.
Export your data in a portable format.
Object to certain types of processing.
Withdraw consent for notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@coparnt.app. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

If you are in the European Economic Area or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

09 — Cookies

Cookies and tracking

The CoParnt iOS app does not use cookies.

This website (www.coparnt.app) uses no tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics beyond basic server-access logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp). These logs are retained for 7 days for security monitoring and are not shared with third parties.

10 — Changes

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via a push notification or email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version.

Continued use of CoParnt after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
